Mrs. Arizona Pageant

My beautiful baby sister.

A little while ago, she was in a momma funk.

So she decided to participate in the Mrs. Arizona America pageant - the sister pageant to Miss America.

Her goal, at least make top 5 and try to stop eating ice cream. She is a fitness instructor and really has a rocking cute little body despite the chocolate, the vanilla, the mint, the rocky road, the pralines and cream, the strawberry, the superman, the sherbet, the whatever is in the fridge yum stuff. It is a habit we carried over into our married lives since ice cream was always a mainstay in the freezer thanks to Dad doing most of the grocery shopping.

Not even walking on stage, in a swimsuit, in heels, in front of friends, family, co-workers, and strangers, could dissuade her from the satisfaction of ice cream. But really when you are living in hot ole Arizona, ice cream is a staple.

Many of the contestants she participated with are on the "pageant circuit". One entered the same pageant 7 times before winning. This was Nic's first.

She made her goal, top 5, 3rd runner up!

I am so impressed you got in there and did it. If nothing else, than to prove you could. Love you sistah!

Happy Birthday Cayden

Normally I am in big time on the birthday party. But this time, I let Randy take over. After gifts and cake and icecream, Randy loaded them up and took them to play laser tag and I stayed home. It is way cooler to play laser tag with your dad and brother than your mom and little sisters.

Randy came home with a headache and ready to go to bed. I cleaned up the kitchen, jumped on the tramp with Kenzie, stunted with Makayla and Madalyn, and organized some files. Other than not taking as many pictures as I would have, birthday host Randy is my vote.

Laser Tag birthday party at Odyssey 1. Boys loved it. They had the laser tag arena to themselves for a few games and afterwards thought we should have rented it for the whole night.

Cayden had 45 seconds to catch as many tickets as he could. After a few seconds he changed his attack plan, instead of reaching out and grabbing for the ones being blown around, he cupped his hands and waited for the tickets to fall in. Smart! He ended up exchanging them for some whoopee cushions, parachutes, foam airplane, and other little things.Mom thoughts:

He was "baby boy" for 9 months.

Almost a Braxton Randy White.

Randy decided that didn't fit.

Cayden. Yeah, he looks like a Cayden.

Now I can't ever think of having him any other way than Cayden.

From 5 lbs. 8 oz. to 11 years old and "meat" on those bones.

8 more years and then he'll probably step out on his own.

He already has his own business. He started it when he was 9. Lawn mowing a few neighbors lawns. Randy and I would have to start the mower for him.

Top in his class, great leader, somewhat quiet (unless at home!).

At his baby blessing, Randy blessed him that he would be a spiritual giant. He also blessed him that he would love his mother and treat her with great respect. He does. And if he didn't, for the time being, my wrestling skills and mad momma skills mean I can take him down, but not for long.

Moved on from "bobadob" (Bob the Builder) to Star Wars. He and Cayleb share a passion for Star Wars books, games, legos etc.

Randy has his "sports" watching buddy, a role I haven't been able to fulfill too well. I like watching my kids play, not other peoples.

HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY. YOU ARE A BLESSING TO OUR HOME AND WE LOVE YOU!!!

"The Little Kids" after we finished.
#3, #5, #4
#1 and #2 where are you?
Just before we got going!

Walt and Ang.
Hip surgery and restrictive diet = no energy; way to go!

Way before we finished, getting headed out the door.

Dad at the finish.
Our #1 supporter (who hates crowds) has marked his spot and waited and waited at the finish line several times since 2006. THANK YOU!

The dynamic duo. You know your sisters when you live states apart, but still show up in bascially the same outfit. Black pants. Purple shirts.
