Christmas and Madalyn's Baptism

Image
I didn't send everyone a hard copy of our Christmas letter and picture this year because really, after you read it once, do you really keep our picture up - if you do (and your not immediate family) then you are stalker like weird. Really, I am just one of those "mothers that know best do less" so I limit the whole card mailing thing so here is my attempt to still do our annual brag and gag. Actually, I passed off this task this year to Randy because my early December was so busy with church and school stuff and he did so well, I think the job is now his, phew! Merry Christmas Everyone, The writing of the Christmas letter is usually done by the more talented Mom who weaves a cute theme throughout the letter and is creative in her writing, but sometimes moms get busy and dads need to pick up the slack. So here is my sorry attempt to entertain you with the White family happenings 2008. Makenzy (1 year on Dec. 18 th ) has fulfilled her baby blessing promises already as sh...

Thanksgiving and Thoughts

Image
My little Makenzy will be 1 next month, I can't believe how quickly the time goes. My wiser family and friends keep saying "enjoy the here and now - it goes by quickly" it does! She doesn't even look like this anymore - still cute, but just different, thought almost the same amount of hair - lotsa hairbows courtesy of Grandma Brusik. We spent Thanskgiving this year hosting. We had the institute missionary couple the Bakers over. They are from Cedar City and she brought over Dixie salad, so we were not only glad to have their company but a bit of Randy's beloved Dixie too. Brother and Sister Williams (she is the secretary at the institute). Her husband recently participated in an iron man and they both ride their bikes to work almost everyday - amazing. I hope Randy and I can be that active when we get older. It was so nice to spend time with them. We really enjoyed their company. It also gave me a chance to use the new digital camcorder I got for my birthday this...

Check out our Cutie!

This is Makenzy doing her cute little face!

Masked Invaders

My creative little duo. Madalyn and Cayleb love to pretend.

Preparing for the Run

Image
Makenzy all bundled up to go running with her dad. She loves being outside. We need to get a plastic cover for the jogger so Randy can keep taking her.

HALLOWEEN 2008

Image
It was a total downpour all day Friday. Suprisingly, by nightfall the rain had stopped and we were able to go trick or treating without any jackets! Cayleb kept saying, "I just love this day, I love Halloween, it is so 'pun.'" He uses "p" in place of "f" which is really cute and "punny". The kids got so much candy. Madalyn's bag of candy weigned 11 pounds. The holidays are so much fun with little ones.

Wrapping Up Summer and Hello Fall

Image
Randy and the kids at the BYU vs. University of Washington football game. They were a divided team. The girls had "W"'s on their cheeks just in case they ran into Randy's students to show they were still for the "U-Dub". Last days of summer - playing bolo ball at Pacific Beach. thought this old, weather worn pier with new growth was an interesting contrast against the steely northwest sky.

Randy and his sisters in Nauvoo (the picture looks a little Brigham Youngish - 1 man, many women). Madalyn loves her cousins - Marlie and Lauren she misses you! Come visit.

For being a political science major, I feel "way out there" and disconnected. I was a little inspired for a while following the national conventions though the Republicans GOP (Grand Old Party, I actually totally forgot what the acronym stood for and Randy had to remind me, ouch - see what I mean by being "spacey") and the Democrats are still up to their GOP - good old politics. Help, I am turning into a cynical independent!

Halloween 2007

Image
Trick or Treat! Already ate my early stash of Halloween candy - now waiting until the 30th to buy more. As far as costumes go we are only 20% finalized, Makenzy will be a ladybug and the rest are still in the design process.
I just started the Brusik Brag (brusikbrag.blogspot.com) for my family and it has been fabulous. I love my family so much and being away from them is harder than I thought. "Absence makes the heart grow fonder." Yet, I decided to do a little on line journaling, commentating, monloguing, rambling just about my little family that Randy and I have (the one I told him we probably wouldn't have for a long time following our marriage because I was going to wait to have kids - hah, five kids later the joke is on me!)
